As already stated, the purpose of #doom3 is to provide a gathering place for Doom III enthusiasts. Game-related questions and answers, match negotiations, tournament information, official news updates, and similar information are topics suitable for the channel. Similarly, friendly conversation, idle chat, good humor, and other non-official are welcome in #doom3. We expect everyone to maintain a good attitude and treat each other with respect while in the channel and encourage individuals to share information about Doom III (release dates, helpful URLs, etc). The following items, however, are NOT permitted within the channel and will dealt with accordingly:

Advertisments include channel invitations to clan channels, other non-affiliate Doom III channels, web site postings, invitations to other IRC networks, and postings to non-Doom III games. Some advertising may be permitted, but only with the permission of the #doom3 staff. Those posted without staff approval will result in a kick and/or temporary ban.

Channel disruptions include name calling, racist, sexist, or religiously slurred remarks, offensive nicks, obtrusive nicks. repeated cursing/swearing, slander of any person or party, arguments, flaming, spam, script abuse and any other general annoyances will not be tolerated within the channel. Individuals participating in such actions will be kicked and/or banned.

Intentional harm such as Virii or DDOS that deny service, hurt, impair, or otherwise cause damage to other users are in violation of Title 18, U.S.C. (Part 1, Chapter 47, Section 1030) and the Canadian Criminal Code (Section 342.2) and are not permitted within the channel. Any individuals in violation of these laws will be banned from the channel and reported to the proper authorities. The #doom3 staff and enterthegame.com Network will cooperate fully with any proven law enforcement agency and will assist in invesitgation and aprehension of a person or persons in violation of these laws. For more information regarding these laws, please contact the FCC or other proper law enforcement agencies.

Channel operator stats (@) is reserved for official #doom3 staff and channel affiliates. Do not ask or beg for ops if you do not qualify. Doing so may earn you a kick and/or temporary ban.

Any person or persons posting links in #doom3 or forums that lead to sites containing pornography or similar adult content will be kicked and banned. Similarly, discussions about pornography and/or solicitation of files are not permitted within the channel nor on the forums.

Spam is considered any repeated line of text or spamming multiple channels with advertisements or other needless information. Questions will be answered by staff members as quickly as possible and spamming will not improve the response time. Other Examples, if you do use a script to spam your system specs make sure it only has the bare essentials and doesn't go over 3 lines, don't use a mp3 script in the channel repeatedly. Spamming may result in a kick and/or temporary ban.

The staff of #doom3 are all volunteers dedicating their time and talent to the gaming community and should be treated with respect. Any form of abuse (slander, harassment, etc.) will not be tolerated and will result in a kick and/or ban from the channel.

Impersonation of a staff member (assuming their identity), even for humor purposes will not be tolerated and will warrant an immediate kick and possible ban from the channel.

Warez is defined as any file, image, text, or program not offered for public use (ie, free/shareware). The distribution of copyrighted data is illegal and is not permitted within the channel. A good example of what is considered warez would be the leaked Doom III "alpha" file that circulated around the internet. Any person found to solicit or distribute files or links to them will be kicked and banned.
